ABOUT THE RIDE

The 9th annual Ride for Hope is a community of caring individuals and organizations who put awareness into action supporting Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

Ride for a Reason.

You can cycle the London Drugs Ride for Hope Presto Fondo (50 km) and support children and families in need in the province.

This year the 50km event features a London Drugs Ride for Hope Presto Fondo that will raise much needed funds for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Canuck Place is BC’s provincial pediatric palliative care provider for newborns, children and teens living with life-threatening illness and the families who love them. Canuck Place relies on the support of organizations like London Drugs and their employees, and the incredible giving community.

Requirements:

  • To be a London Drugs Ride for Hope Presto Fondo participant you must raise a minimum of $250. No exceptions. If fundraising goal is not reached 72 hours prior to event start you will be charged the full registration amount.
  • Canuck Place will support you with fundraising and training tips.

What you get:

  • London Drugs Ride for Hope Presto Fondo first 75 participants receive a custom ride jersey.
  • London Drugs Ride for Hope Presto Fondo participants pay a reduced entry fee of $75
  • An incredible opportunity to give back while doing something you enjoy.

A mass-start at 7AM sharp!

This 50km route is a great introduction to participating in a mass cycling event. Cyclists depart Fort Langley and head south along Langley’s country roads. The course is predominantly flat with just enough hills to challenge you through the scenic route of Langley. Support vehicles guide you along the way to make your ride safe and enjoyable. The PrestoFondo is designed to inspire and challenge novice cyclists of all ages.

Since the Ride for Hope’s inception in 2007, over $575,482 has been raised for BC’s newborns, children, teens with life-threatening illnesses and their families who require programs operated by Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. These funds are in invested in pain and symptom management, respite and family support, counseling, art, education, music and recreation therapy and end-of-life care. How much does it cost to enter the ride for hope?
The 2015 Ride for Hope will cost $75 per rider to enter.
What charity benefits from Ride for Hope?
The proceeds generated from the Ride for Hope support Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
Canuck Place opened its doors in 1995 as the first free standing children’s hospice in North America. Today it is recognized globally as a leader in pediatric palliative care sharing knowledge, expertise and research regionally, nationally and internationally to assist in the further development of best practices in this field.
Canuck Place offers a comprehensive continuum of care to over 350 children and teens with life-threatening illnesses and their families throughout British Columbia.
